Application
1-己硫醇可与4-巯基苯酚混合，官能化金纳米颗粒（AuNP），用作耐化学传感器。也可在铜表面形成保护涂层，防止氧化反应和形成污染层。还可作为硫醇配体，在薄膜太阳能电池中用作半导体材料，具有潜在应用价值。
它用于调整网络化碳纳米管场效应晶体管的电特性。也可用作铜表面单层，阻止暴露环境期间的表面氧化，然后可在惰性N2 中通过退火步骤有效解吸，提供干净的铜表面。
