Chromium(III) oxide (Cr₂O₃) is an inorganic compound with wide applications in construction materials, heterogeneous catalysis, enamels, green pigments, plastic, and paints. These listed applications are due to its unique properties like high oxidative resistance and melting temperature. Furthermore, a permanent green coloring in cement is achieved by Cr₂O₃.

Chromium(III) oxide can be used:

• To dope TiO₂ nanocrystallites photoanodes applicable in dye-sensitized solar cells.
• As a bulk mediator in the modification of carbon paste electrodes applicable in nitric oxide sensing.
