General description

非必需、不旋光、非手性氨基酸。它在20种天然氨基酸中是最小的氨基酸。作为一种抑制性神经递质，特别是在脑干和延髓中。在胎儿中脑细胞培养中显示可阻断NMDA刺激的多巴胺释放。此外，还报道可增加大脑皮层神经元中的NMDA受体介导的突触电位。
