Immunogen
17 amino acid synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence near the C-terminus of Human/Mouse/Rat COX-2 coupled to KLH.
Application
Western blot: 1-10 μg/mL using Chemiluminescence technique; COX-2 runs as a 68-72KDa protein in most cells, sometimes a 90kDa post-translationally modified form is seen as well. CaCo-2 line extracts (induced with serum or growth factors) are good positive controls.
ELISA: 1:10,000 - 1:100,000 using 100 ng of immunogen peptide per well.
Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user.

This Anti-Cyclooxygenase-2 Antibody is validated for use in ELISA, WB for the detection of Cyclooxygenase-2.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Cyclooxygenase-2. Two isoforms of Prostaglandin H synthase are well characterized, namely COX1 and COX2. Both forms of COX proteins are membrane associated heme proteins containing cyclooxygenase and peroxidase activities. These enzymes are targets of NSAID (Non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) such as aspirin. COX2 is a 72 kDa protein having 60% homology to COX1. It is induced by cytokines and mitogens and likely plays a role in inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis.
Physical form
Affinity purified immunoglobulin. Liquid in PBS with 0.1% BSA.
Preparation Note
Maintain frozen at -20°C in undiluted aliquots for up to 6 months after date of receipt. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
During shipment, small volumes of product will occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial. For products with volumes of 200 μL or less, we recommend gently tapping the vial on a hard surface or briefly centrifuging the vial in a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container′s cap.

Bovine postpartum uterine disease, metritis, affects about 40% of animals and is widely considered to have a bacterial aetiology. Although the gamma-herpesvirus bovine herpesvirus 4 (BoHV-4) has been isolated from several outbreaks of metritis or abortion, the role of viruses

We have reported that Notch-1 and NF-κB/p65 signalling pathways operate in synergy in regulating the production of proinflammatory mediators in activated microglia. In the latter

Previous work has demonstrated that activation of muscarinic acetylcholine receptors at the lizard neuromuscular junction (NMJ) induces a biphasic modulation of evoked neurotransmitter release: an initial depression followed by a delayed enhancement. The depression is mediated by the release of
