General description

雷帕霉素（mTOR）的哺乳动物靶标，也称为FRAP，RAFT或RAPT，是一种普遍表达的丝氨酸/苏氨酸激酶，属于磷酸肌醇3-激酶–相关激酶（PIKK）家族。mTOR在PI3K途径中起下游效应物的作用，并被Akt激酶激活。mTOR通过激活S6激酶和抑制参与蛋白翻译的4E-BP蛋白来响应来自生长因子的信号，并促进细胞增殖的蛋白合成。多项研究表明，mTOR的增殖功能可能导致癌症的发展。
