Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor 121 human

HumanKine growth factors are expressed in a proprietary human 293 protein expression system and are manufactured without the use of any animal products and are considered Xeno-Free.

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is active in angiogenesis, vasculogenesis and endothelial cell growth. VEGF induces endothelial cell proliferation, promotes cell migration, inhibits apoptosis, and induces permeabilization of blood vessels. VEGF binds to the VEGFR1/Flt-1 and VEGFR2/Kdr receptors, heparan sulfate and heparin. VEGF121 is acidic and is a freely secreted form of VEGF.

Product is presented in PBS and filtered through a 0.2 micron filter before lyophilization.

Store at -20°C for up to 4 months from date of receipt. Further dilutions should be made into appropriate buffer or medium to which protein has been added.

Bioactivity assay: Determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferationof HUVEC cells (Human Umbilical Vein
Endothelial Cells). ED50 is typically 2-8 ng/ml.
