General description
Purified rat monoclonal antibody generated by immunizing rats with the specified immunogen and fusing splenocytes with mouse myeloma p3 NS 1/Ag4-1 (NS1) mouse myeloma cells. Recognizes both the occupied and unoccupied forms of vitamin D receptor.
Recognizes both occupied and unoccupied vitamin D receptor in breast carcinomas expressing the vitamin D receptor protein.
This Anti-Vitamin D Receptor (Ab-1) Rat mAb (9A7γE10.4) is validated for use in Frozen Sections, Gel Shift, WB, IP, Paraffin Sections for the detection of Vitamin D Receptor (Ab-1).
Immunogen
purified, chick intestine vitamin D receptor

Does not cross-react with estrogen and glucocorticoid receptors. About 50% of breast tumors express vitamin D receptor protein. For gel shift assays, order antibody at 1 mg/ml; contact Customer Service for additional information. For paraffin sections pre-treatment in 2N HCl for 20 min at 37°C prior to staining. Antibody should be titrated for optimal results in individual systems.

The active form of Vitamin D, 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (1,25D), has strong anti-proliferative effects, yet the molecular mechanisms underneath this effect remain unclear. In contrast, the molecular mechanism of 1,25D for the regulation of calcium homeostasis has principally been resolved, demonstrating
