General description
TNF受体相关因子4（TRAF4），也被称为与RING和Traf结构域相关的半胱氨酸富半胱氨酸结构域蛋白1（CART1）、转移淋巴结基因62蛋白（MLN 62）和环指蛋白83（RNF83），是一种连接TNF家族成员到不同信号通路的适配器蛋白和信号换能器。 因此，TRAF4在NF-κ-和JNK信号的激活中发挥作用，并在细胞凋亡和细胞存活途径中发挥作用。在发育过程中，TRAF4是骨骼和肺正常发育所必需的。TRAF4定位于细胞的核周区域以及其他位置，包括与各种细胞骨架元件相关的细胞连接处。TRAF4在胸腺、呼吸道、唾液腺和食道的上皮细胞中表达。TRAF4的表达受泛素蛋白酶体系统的调控，是一种多泛素靶蛋白。
