General description
观测分子量〜53 kDa
野生型p53存在于所有正常哺乳动物细胞的细胞核中，似乎参与细胞增殖的调节。正常蛋白质具有非常短的半衰期，并且在正常组织和细胞中仅以微量存在。相反，恶性细胞产生的突变型p53蛋白通常是p53基因中点突变的产物，导致单个氨基酸的取代，从而显著延长了蛋白的半衰期。高水平p53的积累是恶性肿瘤的潜在新标志物。
