General description

甲醇是一种有机合成中常用的工业级有机溶剂。因其具备高H/C比、低烟灰产生倾向、相对低的重整温度并在室温下的液相状态，它被视为燃料电池技术中的潜在氢源。通过MTO（甲醇-烯烃）工艺由甲醇所形成的烯烃（乙烯或丙烯）可替代石油和天然气用于烃燃料的生产。

Application

在制备薄的吉姆萨染色血涂片时，甲醇已用于组织的固定。它已用于合成绿脓菌素过程中的纯化步骤，而绿脓菌素是一种在铜绿假单胞菌中发现的有毒化合物。

甲醇用于以下应用：

用于合成和纯化绿脓菌素，分光光度法估计绿脓菌素的浓度，采用分光光度计吸收数据计算绿脓菌素的摩尔浓度。
用作核型分析中使用的染色液的成分。
在集落形成试验中用作染色液的成分，用于对细胞集落进行染色。
