General description
邻联甲苯胺是一种二酸性染料，微溶于水，易溶于乙醚和乙醇。在暴露于氯或溴蒸气时，它会产生深蓝色产物。这是检测空气或水中的氯、硝酸盐和过氧化氢的基础。与游离氯反应时，变成黄色。邻联甲苯胺易于形成酸式盐。
Application
邻联甲苯胺还被用于检测变色栓菌（ T. versicolor）真菌菌落是否具有漆酶活性。
用于检测金和水中游离氯的高灵敏度比色试剂。
