General description
乙酸激酶属于乙酸盐和糖激酶/Hsc70/肌动蛋白（ASKHA）结构超家族。它以二聚体形式存在，并在N和C端结构域之间的缝隙中存在有核苷酸结合位点。
Application
在木糖葡糖杆菌的发酵过程以及动力学建模和稳态研究中，来自大肠杆菌的乙酸激酶已被用于评估乙酸激酶的活性。
乙酸激酶可用于将乙酸磷酸化为乙酰磷酸。 来自大肠杆菌的乙酸激酶已被用作ATP再生系统的一部分，用于研究激动剂刺激的转磷脂酰化反应的动力学。
Biochem/physiol Actions
乙酸激酶在糖酵解中起重要作用。乙酸激酶会在ATP和二价阳离子的存在下将乙酸盐磷酸化，并最终导致乙酰辅酶A的生成。乙酸激酶也会参与到丙酸酯、丙酮酸和牛磺酸的代谢。
