IgG antibody subtype is the most abundant serum immunoglobulins of the immune system. It is secreted by B cells and is found in blood and extracellular fluids and provides protection from infections caused by bacteria, fungi and viruses. Maternal IgG is transferred to fetus through the placenta that is vital for immune defence of the neonate against infections
Anti-Mouse IgG (Fc specific) F(ab′)₂ fragment−FITC antibody is specific for the Fc fragment of mouse IgG. No cross reactivity is observed with the Fab fragment of mouse IgG. Purified antibody is conjugated to fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) in an alkaline reaction and then purified to remove unbound FITC.

Anti-Mouse IgG (Fc specific) F(ab′)₂ fragment−FITC antibody may be used for immunohistochemistry at a working dilution of 1:320 using formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections of human tonsil. Antibody dilution of 1:200 was used to label sections of human brainstems and cervical spinal cords with primary antibody against human Bcl-2 protein. The antibody was also used to label erythrocytes for photon reassignment microscopy and for FACS using melanoma cells.

Binds mouse IgG; does not bind other mouse Igs.

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
