Biochem/physiol Actions
COX2（环氧合酶-2）基因编码的酶参与前列腺素类激素合成，可将花生四烯酸转化为前列腺素 H2(PGH2)。参与炎性前列腺素的生成。作为前列腺素-内过氧化物酶合成酶的诱导型同工酶，受炎症反应和有丝分裂及生长因子和细胞因子的调节。 阿司匹林和布洛芬等非类固醇抗炎药(NSAID)可抑制该酶，减轻发炎、疼痛和发热症状，长期使用这类药物可降低致命血栓形成、结肠癌进展和阿尔茨海默病罹患风险。
