General description

Biochem/physiol Actions

FUS（融合肉瘤）基因突变会引发家族性肌萎缩侧索硬化症（ALS）。这种疾病是由于FUS细胞核定位序列突变聚集，FUS聚集体在细胞质中积聚。这种蛋白质是多功能的，在RNA代谢中发挥多种作用。在脂肪肉瘤中，该蛋白质的N端与CHOP（CCAAT增强子结合蛋白同源蛋白）转录因子的N端融合，激活致癌基因，引发肿瘤。这种蛋白质与神经退行性疾病的发病机制有关，其失活影响细胞的稳态。该蛋白质的失活会导致组蛋白H3磷酸化水平升高，从而导致细胞停滞，进一步影响细胞增殖。
