Application
牛心脏来源L-乳酸脱氢酶用作标准品，测定细胞毒性。 也用于测定谷氨酸丙酮酸转氨酶（GPT）。
Biochem/physiol Actions
乳酸脱氢酶(LDH)非常重要，在厌氧代谢途径中起关键作用。它在细胞内催化乳酸转化丙酮酸、NAD⁺转化NADH，反之亦然。该酶反应在细胞产能中起重要作用，尤其是在低氧或缺氧环境中。乳酸脱氢酶也在肿瘤糖酵解或Warburg效应中起重要作用。当细胞受损或死亡时，会释放乳酸脱氢酶到血流中。因此，LDH可作为细胞损伤和死亡的潜在标志物。高乳酸脱氢酶活性与多种疾病状态有关，比如肝病、贫血、心脏病发作、骨折、肌肉创伤和某些癌症。
还可催化其他 L-2-羟基单羧酸的氧化反应。
