Biochem/physiol Actions
白介素1β（IL-1β）可刺激内源性92 kDa明胶酶（基质金属蛋白酶9（MMP-9））和MMP的组织抑制剂（TIMP -1）的产生。 它是一种诱发各种急性和慢性炎症的促炎细胞因子。因此，IL-1β可被视为与纤维化和组织重塑相关的疾病的潜在治疗靶标。 IL-1β可将中性粒细胞和巨噬细胞带到感染部位。 IL-1β在滑液中的过表达有助于滑膜炎的发生以及颞下颌关节软骨组织和骨骼的退行性改变。 IL-1β的基因突变会导致过敏性紫癜（HSP）中的肾脏表现和肾脏后遗症。
