Gene Information
human ... KRAS(3845)
General description
The kirsten rat sarcoma-2 virus oncogene (KRAS) gene is mapped to human chromosome 12p12.1 and belongs to the family of Ras genes. The protein encoded is a small guanosine nucleotide-bound GTPases belonging.
Immunogen
KRAS purified recombinant protein
Biochem/physiol Actions
Mutation in the KRAS gene causes non small-cell lung cancer and promotes tumor initiation, progression and metastasis. Altered KRAS gene also offers resistance to chemotherapy. It is involved in the signal transduction between epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) to the nucleus.
Physical form
Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
