Biochem/physiol Actions
CLDN5 (claudins) 基因编码紧密连接（tight junction）的成分， 并可作为溶质和水的选择性屏障。在偏头痛中观察到CLDN5上调。在肺鳞状细胞癌（ lung squamous carcinoma）中CLDN5的表达下降。现已确知CLDN5使p21上升，细胞周期蛋白D1下降，从而导致细胞周期G1期向S期转化的延迟。作为血脑屏障的一部分，Cldn5维持中枢神经系统的稳态。
