Application

(±)-α-生育酚已被用于制备分枝杆菌乳剂。它还用于研究其对流感病毒的免疫调节作用。

Biochem/physiol Actions

δ生育酚（维生素E）由一系列（α、β、γ和δ）手性化合物组成，这些手性化合物的不同之处在于色原烷醇环的酚部分的甲基化程度。它们起到脂溶性抗氧化剂的作用，保护细胞膜免受氧化损伤。α-生育酚被人体吸收发挥有利作用，并且它们的烟酸盐具有维生素E补充剂的作用。研究还报道，维生素E可以预防大鼠中药物诱导型癫痫引起的细胞损伤。

Preparation Note

(±)-α-生育酚可与氯仿、乙醇、乙醚、丙酮和植物油混溶。但是，它实际上不溶于水。 (±)-α-生育酚在碱性条件下不稳定。
