General description

γ-微管蛋白定位于人染色体 17q21.2 上，编码微管蛋白家族的成员。它位于微管组织中心。 γ -微管蛋白由两种同工型组成，即微管蛋白 γ 1（TUBG1）和微管蛋白γ 2（TUBG2），两者间氨基酸的一致性为97.3％。除这两种同工型之外，在人17号染色体还鉴定出 γ微管蛋白假基因（TUBG1P）。人TUBG1和TUBG2 转录物分别在植入前胚胎和脑中广泛表达。 γ -微管是 γ-微管环复合物（γ-TuRC）的组分，直径与微管大致相同。

Biochem/physiol Actions

γ在体内，-微管蛋白在整个哺乳动物细胞周期中使微管组装成核。在构巢曲霉（Aspergillus nidulans）中，γ-微管蛋白促进微管附着于纺锤极体、核分裂和微管组装。乳腺癌 1蛋白（BRCA1）导致的-γ微管蛋白泛素化是调节中心体数量的关键步骤。在肺癌中可观察到γ-微管蛋白的过度表达。微管蛋白γ2（TUBG2）在细胞生长中起关键作用。γ-微管蛋白基因畸变改变微管组装。γ微管蛋白的表达水平可以认为是星形细胞瘤患者的重要预后指标。
