General description
黄嘌呤氧化酶（XOD）是一种金属黄素蛋白。含黄素腺嘌呤二核苷酸（FAD）、钼和铁，三者比例为 2：2：8。此同二聚体的分子量为290kDa。黄嘌呤氧化酶是钼蛋白家族成员，由两个分离的底物结合位点组成。

Application
牛乳中提取的黄嘌呤氧化酶用于：
- 制备黄嘌呤氧化酶（XO）溶液 ，用于5-（二乙氧基磷酰）-5-甲基-1-吡咯啉N-氧化物(DEPMPO)自旋捕获分析
- 体外 XO检测，筛选越南药用植物XO抑制活性
- 确定XO活性的标准品
- 检测二十二碳六烯酸（DHA）协同效应的标准品
Biochem/physiol Actions
黄嘌呤氧化酶（XO）催化将次黄嘌呤羟基化为黄嘌呤，将黄嘌呤羟基化为尿酸。
木糖氧化酶是一种含钼酶，存在于细胞质中，能够被黄酮类化合物有效抑制。它在一些药物和嘌呤嘧啶代谢中有重要作用。它被认为是活性氧簇的生物来源。
木糖氧化酶通过产生超氧阴离子然后氧化木糖，参与细胞色素c还原。这些自由基能够还原色素c。
