Biochem/physiol Actions

黄嘌呤氧化酶在嘌呤代谢中催化次黄嘌呤羟基化为黄嘌呤,黄嘌呤羟基化为尿酸和氧自由基。这种酶也参与咖啡因代谢。黄嘌呤氧化酶在药物等异源物质的代谢中也起重要作用,例如硫嘌呤类药物,涉及6-巯基嘌呤、别嘌呤醇和尿酸。黄嘌呤氧化酶活性过高会引起高尿酸血症(血中尿酸过多),进一步导致痛风。
