General description
叶酸属于维生素B族的一员,也称为维生素9。它在人体中以5-甲基四氢叶酸形式存在。叶酸的膳食来源为谷物、水果和蔬菜。蝶酰谷氨酸是一种合成叶酸,含有一个谷氨酸并以氧化形式存在。
Biochem/physiol Actions
叶酸是细胞生长、大脑功能的必需组分,并在甘氨酸生产丝氨酸中发挥重要作用。它还可协同维生素B12维持铁浓度水平。叶酸缺乏会引起巨红细胞性贫血症。叶酸有助于DNA的修复与合成。对于孕妇,特别是怀孕早期孕妇,建议在膳食中增补叶酸,防止先天性畸形和神经管缺陷 (NTD)。但叶酸增补也可能会增加前列腺癌风险。在结肠癌细胞中添加叶酸会降低铁浓度并对细胞分裂造成损伤。
