General description
DL-Methionine is a sulfur-containing amino acid mainly used as a dietary supplement for poultry. It is a key precursor for synthesizing carnitine and creatine in the body.
Application
- Influence of DL methionine and sodium metabisulphite on the photostability of vitamin K1.: This study examines how DL methionine and sodium metabisulphite impact the photostability of vitamin K1, essential for understanding the interactions and stability of vitamin formulations (Ho and Wong, 1998).
- Amino acid polymers for biomedical applications. I. Permeability properties of L-leucine DL-methionine copolymers.: This research explores the permeability properties of copolymers made from L-leucine and DL-methionine, which have significant implications for biomedical applications like drug delivery systems (Martin, May, and McMahon, 1971).
- ESR measurement of short-lived free radicals obtained by addition of OH to DL-methionine.: This article describes the electron spin resonance (ESR) measurements of short-lived free radicals produced when hydroxyl groups are added to DL-methionine, offering insights into the radical chemistry of amino acids (Bürk and Schoffa, 1969).
