General description

Phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate (PI4P) is a precursor of phosphatidylinositol (4,5)-bisphosphate [PI(4,5)P2]. It is located in the membranes of Golgi apparatus.

Application

Brain PI(4)P has been used for molecular docking. It has also been used for the preparation of liposome for co-floatation.
