General description
14:0 Lyso phosphoglycerol is a lyso-phospholipid detergent. Lyso-phospholipids are non bilayer forming lipids, that are synthesized in γ-proteobacteria. They are minimally found in very minute amounts in normal bacterial membranes.
Application
14:0 Lyso PG has been used as a standard in the optimization of the liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) method conditions.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Lyso phosphoglycerol (Lyso PG) acts as a substrate for lysophosphatidylglycerol acyltransferase 1 (LPGAT1) for the synthesis of phosphoglycerol.

The glycopeptide antibiotic vancomycin has been widely used to treat infections of Gram-positive bacteria including Clostridium difficile and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. However, since its introduction, high level vancomycin resistance has emerged. The genes responsible require the action of the two-component
