General description

Unique detergent with high CMC that solubilizes membrane-bound proteins in their native state (aggregation number: 11; CMC: 8 mM; micellar weight: 9960). Capable of solubilizing the opiate receptor to a state exhibiting reversible binding of opiates. Has a higher solubility than CHAPS because of its more polar head group.

Preparation Note

Following reconstitution, store in the refrigerator (4°C). Stock solutions are stable for up to 3 days at 4°C.
