Description

General description

Absorbance (10%, H₂O, 290 nm):≤0.25.

Highly purified and intended for use as a detergent to solubilize membrane-bound proteins in their native state (absorbance: <0.25 at 290 nm, 10% H₂O; aggregation number: 3-12; CMC: 2-6 mM; micellar weight: 1200-4900; pK_a: 6.2). Reported to induce tyrosine phosphorylation of β-catenin and its subsequent translocation to the nucleus, promoting activation of β-catenin signaling (effective concentration 5-50 µM).

Application

Treatment of mucocutaneous leishmaniasis - A systematic review.: Sodium deoxycholate is discussed in this systematic review as a component in treatment regimens for mucocutaneous leishmaniasis, offering comprehensive insights into current therapeutic approaches and outcomes (Fischer et al., 2024).

Preparation Note

Do not use with Mn²⁺ in solution.

Following reconstitution, refrigerate (4°C). Stock solutions are stable for up to 6 months at 4°C. Discard if bacterial or fungal growth is observed.
