General description

A semi-synthetic form of Paclitaxel (Cat. No. 580555) having no contamination by natural taxanes. Also has reduced levels of epimerization products as contaminants.

A semi-synthetically derived form of Paclitaxel (TAXOL^®, Cat. No. 580555) having no contamination of natural taxanes. Also has less epimerization products as contaminants. Promotes assembly of microtubules and inhibits tubulin disassembly. An effective agent in blocking HeLa and B16 cells at the G₂/M stage. Inhibits DNA synthesis and stimulates the release of tumor necrosis factor-α. Induces apoptosis in murine mammary carcinoma MCA-4 and ovarian carcinoma OCA-1 tumors.
