Application

Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) is a hexadentate ligand and chelating agent with the ability to sequester divalent cations such as calcium and cesium. EDTA is used in a wide range of applications where the sequestration of divalent cations is required or useful. EDTA is used in the study of artificial restriction DNA cutters.

Other Notes

Determination of anions and metal cations by single-column chromatography with EDTA as eluent using conductivity and UV detection ; Buffer component in DNA digest analysis with capillary electrophoresis

Yuichiro Aiba et al.
Chemical Society reviews, 40(12), 5657-5668 (2011-05-14)
This tutorial review provides recent developments in artificial cutters for site-selective scission of DNA with the focus on chemistry-based DNA cutters. They are useful tools for molecular biology and biotechnology, since their site-selectivity of scission is much higher than that

Electrophoresis, 14(1-2), 27-35 (1993-01-01)
DNA digest analysis with polymer-filled capillaries in capillary electrophoresis is described. The samples analyzed consisted of commercially available standards including a 100 base pair ladder with repeating units up to 2000 base pairs. Three DNA digests covered the most common
