General description

Undecane is obtained from the refining of petroleum. It is a component of gasoline and is generally used in organic synthesis, petroleum research and as a distillation chaser.

Application

Undecane has been used as a standard in quantitatively determining the presence of iso-furans and F2-isoprostanes in biological fluids and tissues, using gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry(GC/MS).
