Description

General description

Lansoprazole is an important proton pump inhibitor and a substituted benzimidazole with antisecretory and antiulcer activities. Its mode of action involves the suppression of gastric acid secretion by specific inhibition of the gastric H⁺/K⁺ ATPase enzyme system at the secretory surface of the gastric parietal cells.
Pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control, provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards.

Application

Lansoprazole may be used as a pharmaceutical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in pharmaceutical formulations using spectrophotometric technique, kinetic spectrophotometric technique and capillary electrophoresis.
