Versatile Applications: Suitable for routine chemical synthesis, drying, purification, and critical labware cleaning, our solvents cater to a wide range of research needs in the laboratory.
1-propanol is a primary alcohol that can be produced by oxidizing aliphatic hydrocarbons. It is extensively used as an organic solvent in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and food industries.

Application

1-Propanol can be used as a solvent in the:
  • Enzyme-catalyzed Henry-reaction of aromatic aldehydes and nitroalkanes to synthesize β-nitroalcohols.
  • Pd-catalyzed Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reactions of aryl halides and arylboronic acids to synthesize biphenyl compounds.
  • Cross-coupling reaction of nitriles and amines to give secondary imines.
  • Synthesis of ZnO thin films by sol-gel method.
  • Extraction of brominated flame retardants from waste polymeric materials.
  • Synthesis of polyaniline/magnetic nanoparticles composite.
