General description

Phosphoric acid (H3PO4) is also known as orthophosphoric acid. It serves as an intermediary or reagent in various manufacturing processes.
The product is crystalline phosphoric acid.
We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which belong to one of the four categories of greener alternatives. Phosphoric acid-doped polybenzimidazole (PBI) membranes offer a cleaner path to energy by enabling high-temperature fuel cells that efficiently convert hydrogen into electricity with low emissions. Their durability and proton conductivity make them ideal for sustainable power systems. Click here for more information.

Application

Phosphoric acid has been employed as an oxidation reagent in a study.1 It may be used in the preparation of ammonium phosphate.
Phosphoric acid is used:
  • As a catalyst in the nucleophilic addition to imines.
  • In the synthesis of porous phosphoric acid-based geopolymers.
  • In the synthesis of mono-alkyl phosphates from simple aliphatic alcohols in the presence of acetic anhydride activator.

Other Notes

Concentrated phosphoric acid is approx. 85% H3PO4 (aqueous).

Disclaimer

product may become solid, becomes liquid on heating to 50°C
