Silver nitrate (AgNO₃) is commonly used as a precursor to many other silver compounds.

Application

Silver nitrate is used as a precursor in the preparation of:

Highly sensitive silver colloids.
Chitosan silver nanocomposite (CSN) films.
Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), using sodium borohydride (NaBH₄) as a reducing agent and polyethylene glycol (PEG) as stabilizing agent.
