Application

The fluorescence intensity, fluorescence quantum yield, time of decay, and lifetime are dependent upon the solvent. For example, the fluorescence intensity varies from being moderately strong in aqueous solution and very weak in hydrocarbon solvents. Additionally, the quantum yield has been demonstrated to increase with decreasing temperatures, for all solvent conditions.

Analysis Note

In addition to the emission maximum at 417 nm, there are lower maxima at 435, 400 and 460 nm.

IFITMs are broad antiviral factors that block incoming virions in endosomal vesicles, protecting target cells from infection. In the case of HIV-1, we and others reported the existence of an additional antiviral mechanism through which IFITMs lead to the production
