Application

L-Arginine is a non-essential amino acid. It is used as a cell culture media component for the commercial biomanufacture of therapeutic recombinant proteins and monoclonal antibodies. L-Arginine monohydrochloride is a modified version of L-Arginine with improved solubility.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Substrate of nitric oxide synthase, which is converted to citrulline and nitric oxide (NO). Induces insulin release by a nitric oxide-dependent mechanism.
