General description
Sigma has developed a variety of specialized media which are intended to provide optimal performance when utilized with specific cell lines. This product consists of 30 mL of RPTEC complete media supplement which is added to basal media and other components listed below to produce 500 mL of complete media needed for optimal growth, maintenance, and culture of Sigma′s Human Renal Proximal Tubule Epithelial Cells (RPTEC). The final RPTEC complete media was developed specifically for use with Sigma′s human RPTEC control SA7K Clone cells and various knockouts (KO).
Application
RPTEC Complete Supplement has been used in SA7K cell line culture for cell characterization.
Preparation Note
Prepare Complete Medium by supplementing 500 mL of MEMα (M4526) with 6.25 mL of L-Glutamine (G7513), 30 mL of RPTEC Complete Supplement (MTOXRCSUP), 0.3 mL of Gentamicin solution (G1397) and 0.03 mL of Amphotericin B solution (A2942). Complete Medium can be stored at 2–8 °C for up to 1 month. This medium is formulated for use with a 5% CO2 in air atmosphere.

AIM Biotech's modular platform enables simple to complex 3D cell culture for various research needs.
Human renal proximal tubule epithelial cells (RPTECs) are commonly used to predict human renal drug permeability and to investigate drug efflux. We have generated transporter knockout (KO) cell lines using CompoZr® Zinc Finger Nuclease (ZFN) technology in a proprietary renal proximal tubule epithelial cell line.

Proximal tubules in the kidney play a crucial role in reabsorbing and eliminating substrates from the body into the urine, leading to high local concentrations of xenobiotics. This makes the proximal tubule a major target for drug toxicity that needs
