General description
PIK3R1 (phosphoinositide-3-kinase regulatory subunit 1) is a pleiotropic gene, that codes for a p85α regulatory subunit of phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase (PI3K). This gene is mapped to human chromosome 5q13.

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human PI3-kinase p85-alpha around the phosphorylation site of Tyr607.

Biochem/physiol Actions
PIK3R1 (phosphoinositide-3-kinase regulatory subunit 1) is known to mediate immune cell differentiation, development and function. Mutations in PIK3R1 gene result in SHORT syndrome, hyper IgM syndrome, lymphadenopathy and short stature.
