Candesartan cilexetil USP reference standard, intended for use in specified quality tests and assays as specified in the USP compendia.
Also, for use with USP monographs such as:
  • Candesartan Cilexetil Tablets
  • Candesartan Cilexetil and Hydrochlorothiazide Tablets

Biochem/physiol Actions

Candesartan cilexetil is a non-peptide angiotensin (AT2) receptor antagonist.
Candesartan cilexetil is the prodrug form of the potent angiotensin II receptor antagonist, candesartan. The prodrug is cleaved by esterases within the intestine to liberate the active molecule.
